1 India becomes 3rd largest aviation market in domestic traffic United States with 815 million passengers in 2016 enjoyed the top position, followed by China with 490 million. India’s domestic air passenger traffic stood at 100 million in 2016.
2 Aadhaar-based e-KYC mandatory for mobile phone connections. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) directed all mobile phone service providers to reverify existing customers, prepaid and postpaid, using their unique Aadhaar identity number and biometric details. Aadhaar-based e-KYC would also be mandatory for customers procuring new SIM card.
3 US Man Ian Grillot Honoured With $100,000 by Indian-Americans Ian Grillot, 24, who was injured while trying to intervene during a shooting in which Indian engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla was killed in a Kansas bar was today felicitated by Indian-Americans with $100,000 in Houston. Mr Grillot was also hailed as 'A True American Hero' at the 14th annual gala of India House Houston, a community center of Indian-Americans in Texas.
4 Indian Navy fires surface-to-air missile from INS Vikramaditya The country’s sole aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya successfully carried out the maiden test of the newly installed Barak short-range surface-to-air missile (SAM). The 44,500 tonne carrier was commissioned into the Navy in November 2013 at Severodvinsk in Russia.
5 Arundhati Bhattacharya ranked 26th among the world's 50 greatest leaders According to Fortune Magazine ,Bhattacharya has become the only Indian corporate leader to be featured on the list. Notably, Bhattacharya is the first-ever woman to helm SBI, which is India's largest public lender. The list has been topped by Theo Epstein President, Baseball Operations in Chicago Cubs.
6 General insurance premium set to go up from April 1 Car, motorcycle and health insurance will cost more from April 1 with regulator Irdai giving go-ahead to insurers for revision in commission for agents. The change in premium after modification will be limited to +/- 5 per cent of the existing rates.

The Maharashtra government has decided to raise the height of the ambitious Shivaji memorial off Mumbai coast from 192m to 210m, reportedly to surpass a Buddha statue in China. The new Shivaji statue will be more than twice the height of America's Statue of Liberty.
9 Australian Grand Prix won by Sebastian Vettel Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel won the Australian Grand Prix for Ferrari. It was Vettel's fourth win for Ferrari and his first since the Singapore Grand Prix in September 2015.
