1. Narendra Modi has emerged as the most followed world leader on Instagram.

with a whopping 6.9 million followers, surpassing US President Donald Trump. Mr Modi, who has put out 101 posts till date, is also the most "effective world leader" on the platform. Trump ,pop francis and white houcse is in 2nd , 3rd and 4th places respectively.

2. pink patrol cars called 'Pink Hoysalas' and Suraksha app released by Karnataka goverment.

It aims at providing police services to women in distress in the least possible time in coordination with the pink patrol vehicles and the police control room.

3. World Bank has approved a $375 million loan to India’s first inland water project.

4. Union Power ministry launches URJA MITRA app

It is for empowering citizens by real-time information sharing on the power supply. The app is a first of its kind which provides a central platform, web-portal “urjamitra.com” as well as a mobile app for state power Distribution utilities to disseminate power outage information to rural/ urban power consumers through SMS/ push/email notifications across the country.

5. Amazon India received the RBI’s approval 'Amazon Pay' e-wallet.

Pay Balance is a closed wallet that runs on Amazon and offers an easy and convenient one-click payment system compared with the two-factor authentication system that is prevalent in India.

6. LIC India has appointed Vinay Shah as MD & CEO of its mortgage loan arm .

Shah has been with LIC since 1983. Prior to this assignment, he was executive director marketing. He took over the business as ED in April 2015. He has looked after areas of new product launches in the last two years.

7. ‘Achim Steiner’ is the new administrator of the United Nations Development Programme.

Achim Steiner previously served at the UN Environment Programme and headed the UN office in Kenya. He succeeds Helen Clark (former New Zealand Prime Minister) who has steered the UNDP since 2009.

8. 'Kristin Davis' appointed UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador

Goodwill Ambassadors are some of the most recognizable public faces of UNHCR. They help to bring our organization to every corner of the world through their influence, dedication, and hard work.

9. M.M Subrahmanya has been appointed as the new MD and CEO of Karnataka Bank

He succeeds Polali Jayarama Bhat, who voluntarily stepped down 15 months ahead of his three-year term as MD and CEO. Mr. P J Bhat is the new part-time non-executive chairman of a city-based private sector bank described is a well thought out succession planning.

10. Haldia Port in West Bengal has topped the List in the First-Ever Ranking of Ports on Sanitation Parameters.

The survey was done on the twelve major ports under the Ministry of Shipping on sanitation parameters, based on the efforts undertaken by them to counter waste generating sources with respect to port operation, office area, township area and the response to incoming ships.
