1. Mongolia launched its first satellite named Mongol Sat-I.

It is 1227 Megahertz satellite. The satellite was launched in partnership with Asia Broadcast Satellite (ABS). The Satellite helps with space research, map making and preparing for natural disaster.

2. First commercial contract between China and Iran to redesign Iran's Arak heavy water reactor in Vienna.

Redesigning the Arak heavy water reactor is a core aspect of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran's nuclear program. The signing will create a favorable condition for the progress of the redesign.

3. SC sets 25% of net salary of husband for maintenance to an estranged wife.

According to Supreme Court, (a bench of Justices ‘R Banumathi’ and ‘M M Santanagoudar’) directed a resident of West Bengal to set aside 25% as maintenance for his former wife and their son.

4. Giuseppina Nicolini has awarded UNESCO Peace Prize.

She is the mayor of the Italian island of Lampedusa, for her commitment to saving the lives of migrants and refugees.

5. Narendra Modi and Vijay Shekhar Sharma are the only two Indians present in ‘100 most influential people in the world’, according to Time magazine.

The list features pioneers, artists, titans, leaders and icons from around the world honored for “the power of their inventions, the scale of their ambitions, the genius of their solutions to problems that no one before them could solve.”

6. Two-day 11th Civil Services Day program inaugurated in New Delhi.

Civil Services Day is celebrated in India every year on 21st April. The function is being organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions. First such function was held in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 21 April 2006.

7. Au Financiers has converted to AU Small Finance Bank from a NBFC.

As a NBFC, AU had network of 300 branches spread across 10 states – Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Goa. India has thirteen branches per 100,000 population as compared to 40 branches per 100,000 population in developed countries.

8. 7,000 railway stations could become digital hotspots under 'Railwire Saathi’ project.

Mofussil India could be on the verge of a digital makeover. The railways have identified over 7,000 sleepy towns in the country for converting their railway stations into digital hotspots, which will not just offer Wi-Fi services to the local population but will also serve as hubs for ordering and receiving goods from ecommerce portals. These proposed centres will provide digital services including digital banking, Aadhaar generation, issuing government certificates and filing taxes .

9. Reliance Industries Ltd named as India’s most valued firm by market capitalisation.

RIL overtook Tata Group’s crown jewel TCS. TCS had replaced RIL as the most valued firm more than four years ago but a sharp rally in the shares of the Mukesh Ambani-led firm in the recent past has helped the company close the gap.

10. Tushar Arothe appointed India Women’s cricket coach.

Former Baroda batsman Tushar Arothe has been named coach of the India women’s cricket team, replacing Purnima Rau, who claims she was not taken into confidence before the change was made.
