6. India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) will start selling mutual funds and insurance products of other companies by early 2018 . Nearly 100 firms, both domestic and foreign, have evinced interest in partnering the government-promoted IPPB. In an interview to PTI, Singh said that IPPB will start full-fledged operations in every district of the country by September 2017. The bank had launched its pilot project with a branch each in Raipur and Ranchi on January 30 this year. |

8. Ministry of External Affairs has made a provision enabling people to apply online for passports in Hindi. The move comes after President Pranab Mukherjee recently accepted recommendations made in this regard by the Committee of Parliament on Official Language through its ninth report. The report was submitted in 2011. The panel had suggested that bilingual forms should be made available by all passport offices and forms filled in Hindi should also be accepted. |
9. A new financial assistance scheme for input investment for farmers unveiled by Telengana. he scheme would cost about Rs.8,000 crore a year to the exchequer. The scheme to be launched in May 2018, from the kharif season next year, would cover all farmers irrespective of their land holding. Farmers would be given Rs.4,000 per acre for cultivation of kharif and an equal amount for rabi crops and fruit orchards as input investment. |
