1.India has been ranked third for the 3rd year in a row in a doping violation

The report published by World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for 2015 with 117 athletes from the country being punished after testing positive for banned substances.

Prior to this, Jain was heading the Chennai-based Indian Bank since November 2015.

4. Phoenix India Research and Development Group launched the first bio-gas fuelled bus in Kolkata

It is keeping a flat fare of just Rs 1. The company has tied-up with Ashok Leyland to manufacture the 54-seater bus at a cost of Rs 13 lakh approximately. The first bus will be flagged off on April 7, 2017 and will run between Ultadanga in the north and Garia in the south in Kolkata.

5. SBI cuts lending rates by 0.15%

The minimum lending rate (Base rate) of the bank has been reduced from 9.25 percent to 9.1 %. With this reduction, EMIs for the bank's new as well as existing borrowers who have taken housing or car loans at the base rate will come down by at least 0.15 per cent.

6. ABB acquired Austrian firm B&R for an undisclosed amount

With this acquisition, the Swiss multi-national will expand its industrial automation offering by integrating B&R's innovative products, helping it challenge its German rival Siemens in the industrial automation sector. The deal increases ABB's sales in the segment to around $15 billion and consolidates its position as number two in the $130 billion global industrial automation sector.

7. Amitabh Bachchan inaugurates new CBFC office in mumbai

CBFC was facing space constraint in their old office in Malabar Hill, which has been there since 1950s. The board then moved a proposal for allocation of space in Films Division Complex in Peddar Road and got an office there on the ninth floor.

8. FIFA bans former Guatemala FA president Brayan Jimenez for life

Jimenez was banned for life from all football-related activities at national and international level. Brayan Jimenez was banned for lifetime for accepting bribes worth several hundred thousand dollars in exchange for media and marketing rights for key matches.

9.Hindustani classical vocalist ‘Kishori Amonkar’ passed away in mumbai

Amonka was considered one of the pre-eminent representatives of Hindustani tradition and as an innovative exponent of the ‘Jaipur Gharana’ (musical tradition of Jaipur). She was a performer of the classical genre khyal and the light classical genres ‘thumri’ and ‘bhajan’.

10. Union Textiles Minister launches PowerTex India Scheme

The scheme will especially benefit small power loom weavers. PowerTex India van was also flagged off for publicity of PowerTex scheme across the country.
