1. SpaceX has launched its first communications satellite Inmarsat-5 F4 for Inmarsat.

The Inmarsat-5 F4 satellite, built by Boeing, blasted off atop Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida. The satellite is the fourth in the company's Global Xpress (GX) constellation, aimed at providing high-speed mobile broadband service.

2. Singapore's first International Maritime Review (IMR) held at the country's prime Changi Naval Base.

Lanba attended the review along with navy ships INS Sahyadri and INS Kamorta. A total of 46 warships and four aircraft from 28 countries, including Singapore, participated in an exercise that included a parade, a land review and a sea review, as part of the IMR. The INS Sahyadri was part of the land review INS Kamorta was part of the sea review.

3. India's first smart grid project has created by IIEST.

It will generate power from renewable sources of energy. The project will be inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee.The smart grid will be synchronized to generate power from solar, wind and vegetable waste resources, depending on the weather conditions and availability of waste products. It is the first of its kind in the country.

4. NITI Aayog held the first meeting of the National Steering Group and other knowledge partners 'Samavesh' in New Delhi

The meeting aimed at bringing together 32 premier educational and policy research institutions to catalyse the development process to enhance institutional capacity development and a field level interface with the community for New India 2022. The meeting was held under the co-chairmanship of Amitabh Kant, CEO and Ratan Watal, Principal Adviser, NITI Aayog.

5.South-East Central railway zone ranked first in the Third Party Audit Report on Station Cleanliness.

Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh has been adjudged as the cleanest railway station in category A1 followed by Secunderabad in Telangana and Jammu Tawi. This was revealed by Third Party Audit Report on Station Cleanliness released by Railway Ministry in New Delhi today. Beas station in Punjab has been declared as is the Cleanest Station in A Category Stations followed Khammam station in Telangana and Ahmednagar station in Maharashtra.

6. Raneh waterfall near Khajuraho awarded Best Holiday Award 2017.

The award was given to Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation by the country's well-known Travel and Information Portal Holiday IQ. Raneh-waterfall is situated about 20 km away from world famous heritage site Khajuraho. It is also close to Panna Tiger Reserve and Ken crocodile sanctuary.

7. India ranked second in renewable energy attractiveness index released by Earnest and Young.

China, which has been ranked first in the index and India have surpassed the US, which fell for the first time since 2015 to third place in the ranking of top 40 countries. India continued its upward trend in the index to second position with the government's programme to build 175 GW in renewable energy generation by 2022 and to have renewable energy account for 40% of installed capacity by 2040.

8. India and Palestine have signed five agreements for cooperation in different areas.

The areas are agriculture cooperation, health sector, Information Technology & Electronics. The Agreements are exchanged after delegation-level talks between PM Narendra Modi and Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas at Hyderabad House in New Delhi.

9. Amnesty International (AI) has launched a new global campaign ‘Brave’.

‘Brave’ to fight against what it said was a growing wave of attacks against those defending human rights. The new Brave campaign calls on states to recognise the legitimate work of those working to stand up for the inherent dignity and equal rights of all people, and to ensure their freedom and safety under the United Nations declaration adopted in 1998.

10. Harikrishna registered his first win at the Moscow FIDE Grand Prix.

The Hyderabadi, playing with white pieces, choose the aggressive route from the word go and the Englishman could not do much and wilted under the pressure to concede the game. With this win, the World No. 16 Indian has now maintained his unbeaten run against Adams this year and recorded his second successive victory against him.
