1.The first freight village of India will be in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

It will be developed by the Inland waterways authority of India (IWAI).A ‘Freight Village’ is a focused industrial estate that attracts companies requiring logistic services. It includes an inter-modal terminal that facilitates assimilation between different modes of transport.

2. SBI, World Bank finance Rs. 400-cr solar projects.

State Bank of India (SBI) & the World Bank have announced, they had financed 100 MW of rooftop solar projects worth Rs.400 crores in India. SBI has availed of a loan of USD 625 million from the World Bank for on-lending to viable Grid-Connected Rooftop Solar PV (GRPV) projects undertaken by developers, aggregators and end-users, for installation of rooftop solar systems.

3. MODI Fest has inaugrated by Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal in Tripura.

Making of Developed India (MODI) Fest, was launched in Tripura today for highlighting the flagship schemes, initiatives, policies and achievements of NDA Government on completion of its 3 years. The three day Expo has begun at Santirbazar School Ground in Santirbazar Sub-division of South Tripura district. The Programme was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal. Talking to media, Assam Chief Minister said that various schemes have been declared by the Prime Minister during the last three years and the people of the country have been reaping benefits a lot.

4. Bharti Airtel has received approvals from the SEBI, BSE and NSE for its proposed merger with Telenor India.

Airtel entered into an agreement with Telenor South Asia Investments in February, 2017 to buy Telenor India’s operations in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Gujarat, UP (East), UP (West) and Assam. These seven circles contribute about 35% to Airtel’s total revenue.

5. BSNL will roll out 1893 mobile towers to provide 2G internet service and seamless mobile coverage across Arunachal Pradesh.

Union Minister of State for Communications Manoj Sinha said this when Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu called on Mr. Sinha in New Delhi yesterday to discuss issues related to telecom connectivity in the state. Khandu informed the Union Minister about the urgency of having a good OFC network necessary for GST to be implemented in the state as the existing IT network was not fully reliable.

6. RBI initiates prompt corrective action for Dena Bank.

With a move that will place various restrictions on the lender, including on fresh loans and dividend distribution. Earlier, similar action was initiated against other state-owned lenders -- IDBI Bank, Indian Overseas Bank and UCO Bank. "The RBI has initiated 'prompt corrective action' for Dena Bank in view of high net NPA and negative ROA (return on asset).

7. Odisha is the first State in India to have developed an automatic public address system.

8. Truecaller becomes fourth most downloaded app in India, surpasses Facebook.

Truecaller is delivering over 100,000 clicks in a day to in-app advertisers. According to the "Mary Meeker Internet trends 2017" report, Whatsapp leads the list of the most downloaded app, followed by Messenger and ShareIt.

9.Nitin Kumar Sinha wins boys singles title of HCL Asian Junior Tennis Championship.

Indian wild card ‘Nitin Kumar Sinha’ has won the boys singles title of HCL Asian Junior Tennis Championship at the Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune. He defeated Christian Didier Chin (Malaysia) 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 in a final match.

10. West Indies cricket team’s official name changed to WINDIES.

The cricket board for West Indies, on its 91st anniversary, has re-branded themselves as Cricket West Indies from the former West Indies Cricket board.
