1. India & Spain signed on seven agreements.

The seven agreements in cyber security, renewable energy, technical cooperation in civil aviation, visa waiver for diplomatic passport holders.The agreements were signed after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held wide-ranging talks with President of Government of Spain Mariano Rajoy at the Moncloa Palace in Madrid. Mr. Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Spain since 1988. Spain is India's seventh largest trading partner in the European Union.

2. India signs loan agreement of 36 million dollar with World Bank for Himachal Pradesh Building Programme..

The agreement signed by Raj Kumar (Joint Secretary of Department of Economic Affairs) and Junaid Kamal Ahmad (Bank's Country Director). The project aims to to improve the efficiency of public expenditure management and tax administration in Himachal Pradesh.

3. Indian Railways has introduced a service ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ to attract purchases of online train tickets.

This will allow passengers to make payment for tickets booked online within a window of 15 days. To buy tickets from the IRCTC website and pay later will decrease the difficulties involved in the payment process at the time. ePayLater, a Mumbai-based fintech firm has joined hands with IRCTC for adding the new feature to Indian Railways ticket booking services.

4. The Delhi Police launched patrolling on bicycle to improve policing in trans-Yamuna region.

The move is also being billed as a green initiative. The bicycle patrols will complement and supplement the existing motorcycle and PCR patrols which focus mainly on crime prevention along the arterial and main roads of Delhi.

5. ADB and PNB sign $100 million loan to finance Solar Rooftop projects.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Punjab National Bank (PNB) signed a $100 million loan to be guaranteed by the Government of India that will finance large solar rooftop systems on industrial and commercial buildings throughout India. The PNB will use the ADB funds to make further loans to various developers and end users to install rooftop solar systems. This is the first tranche loan of the $500 million multi tranche finance facility Solar Rooftop Investment Program (SRIP) approved by ADB in 2016.

6. India to be first in world to run all government ports on green energy.

The government plans to install almost 200 megawatt solar and wind power generation capacity at the ports by 2019. Almost 150 mw of this will be solar power and 50 mw wind power generation capacity. The capacity could be ramped up to 500 mw in the next few years.

7. 70th World Health Assembly held in Geneva, Switzerland.

Member states also agreed on a five-year action plan that will initiate collaboration between WHO, the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in tackling shortfalls in global health and social workforce.

8. T-Wallet for people with and without mobile phones has launched by Telengana Government.

The Telangana Government has launched a digital wallet, named T-Wallet, which doesn’t charge transaction fee from consumers. The government is planning to use the wallet which is available in Google Play, for remittances under job guarantee scheme MNREGA and scholarships for students.

9. Former indian envoy Nirupama Rao appointed public policy fellow to US think-tank.

She will work on a project on the Sino-India ties for the top American think-tank. Ms Rao will be affiliated with the Wilson Centre's Asia programme. Beginning in June 2017, she will spend three months in residence at the Wilson Centre which is a key non-partisan policy forum for tackling global issues.

10. ICC Champions Trophy 2017 began in London.

he 2017 ICC Champions Trophy (8th edition) has begun in London with hosts England taking on Bangladesh in the opening encounter at Kennington Oval. The top eight teams in the ICC ODI Championship rankings as on 30th Sept 2015 qualified for the tournament.
