1. World Refugee Day being observed globally on 20th June.

The World Refugee Day is observed across the world on 20 June to commemorate the strength, courage, and perseverance of millions of refugees. The day is celebrated by United Nations. The Day also marks a key moment for the public to show support for families that are forced to flee for their lives each day.

2. India has become the 71st country to ratify the United Nations International Convention on Road Transports, TIR.

The Convention is a multilateral treaty to boost International Transport of Goods. The TIR convention is expected to boost trade and regional integration across South Asia and beyond, that will fast-track the region's potential to become a strategic trade hub. TIR is managed and developed by IRU -- the world road transport organisation. IRU Secretary General Umberto de Pretto welcoming India said, this is an important step in harmonising standards and boosting transport, trade and development across South Asia.

3. Minister for Science & Technology Dr. Harshvardhan launched a Mobile App “Celebrating Yoga” in New Delhi .

The Mobile App has been developed by DST on the occasion of International Yoga Day (21 June) 2017. The purpose of the App is to popularize Yoga and encourage people to participate in it for a scientifically healthy living.

4. Taj Mahal Palace hotel is the first building in india to get intellectual property rights protection for its architectural design.

The iconic Taj Mahal Palace hotel in the Mumbai City has acquired an 'image trademark'. thereby joining the elite and small club of trademarked properties in the world which includes the Empire State Building in New York, the Eiffel Tower in Paris and Sydney Opera House.

5. UNICEF appoints Syrian refugee Muzoon Almellehan as Goodwill Ambassador.

UN children's agency UNICEF has named its first goodwill ambassador who is a refugee. UNICEF Deputy Executive Director Justin Forsyth said, 19-year old Syrian refugee and education activist Muzoon Almellehan is the first goodwill ambassador with official refugee status. Mr Forsyth said, she received support from the agency while she was living in the Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan. Muzoon follows in the footsteps the late actress and goodwill ambassador Audrey Hepburn who was also supported by UNICEF as a child.

6. Tata Group, Lockheed Martin sign deal to manufacture F-16 fighter jets in India.

According to PTI, under the deal signed on Monay, Lockheed will shift its Fort Worth, Texas plant to India without directly affecting American jobs, a campaign pledge of Trump who has vowed to put America First. Orlando Carvalho, executive vice president of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics said, their partnership significantly strengthens the F-16 'Make In India' offer, creates and maintains numerous new job opportunities in India and the US, and brings the world's most combat-proven multi-role fighter aircraft to India.

7. India's first 14-foot robot to control traffic installed in Indore.

It's equipped with a public address system and can take photos of traffic violators to generate e-challans when connected to police control room. Developed by Shri Venkteshwar Institute of Technology, the robot reportedly took two years and ₹20 lakh to complete.

8. Canada first to put a glow-in-the-dark coin into circulation.

The Royal Canadian Mint has unveiled a specially designed two-dollar coin, or 'toonie', which it claims is the world’s first glow-in-the-dark coin to enter circulation. The coin features two people paddling under the Northern Lights. The coin, created to mark the 150th anniversary of Canada’s confederation, is also the world’s first coloured bimetallic coin.

9.Smriti Irani unveils world's largest cushion in New delhi.

At the inauguration of the Heimtextil India fair, Irani said India's home textile business this year has contributed 12% to its overall shipments globally. As many as 180 companies from India, Bangladesh, China, Thailand and Nepal are participating in the fair.

10. Anil Kumble steps down as head coach of Indian cricket team.

Anil Kumble stepped down as Team India coach on Tuesday amid reports of a rift with Virat Kohli. Kumble had stayed back in London while the team travelled to West Indies, citing his commitment to an ICC meeting. Earlier, Kumble was given an extension for the West Indies tour, after his contract expired at the end of the Champions Trophy.
