1. Bhumika Sharma has become Miss World in bodybuilding championship.

Dehradun’s girl gained maximum points in three categories – individual posing, body posing and fall in that eventually bagged her the Miss World title and the gold medal at the world championship in Venice, Italy. The championship drew 50 competitors from different countries.

2. Manushi Chillar from Haryana has won Femina Miss India 2017 title.

She won Miss India 2017 title at the grand finale ceremony event at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. Manushi born to doctor parents, studied in St. Thomas School (Delhi) and Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat (Haryana). A total of 30 participants (all states of India) participated for the crown of Femina Miss India 2017.

3. Venkaiah Naidu has launched the book which titled 'The Emergency - Indian Democracy’s Darkest Hour'.

A book is written by Surya Prakash who is a chairman of Prasar Bharati. The book was launched at a conference to mark the anniversary of the Emergency and to honor all those who fought for the restoration of democracy in the country in the mid-1970s.

4. Aadhaar details mandatory for subsidy on Delhi e-rickshaws.

A notice issued by the government said, registered owners of e-rickshaws in Delhi will be considered for a subsidy of 30,000 rupees after providing their Aadhaar card details. All the registered e-rickshaw owners whose subsidy claims are pending are now required to submit the photo copies of their Aadhaar card and registration certificate at the office of concerned motor licensing officers by the end of this month. The claims of subsidy will not be considered if the Aadhaar card and registration certificate copies are not submitted by the due date.

5. China has developed world’s most powerful submarine detector.

The Chinese Academy of Sciences, China’s largest research institute, said in an article this week that a “superconductive magnetic anomaly detection array” has been developed in Shanghai and passed inspection by an expert panel The device, which works from the air, could be used to pinpoint the location of minerals buried deep beneath the earth in Inner Mongolia, for example, with a level of precision as high as anything currently available around the world, the experts were quoted as saying by the report.

6. Sikh Woman Palbinder Kaur Shergill Becomes First Turbaned Supreme Court Judge In Canada

Indian-origin Sikh human rights advocate Palbinder Kaur Shergill has been appointed a judge at the Supreme Court of British Columbia in New Westminster. Ms Shergill is the first turbaned Sikh to be appointed to the judiciary in Canada. Jody Wilson-Raybould, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, announced the appointment on Friday under the new judicial application process announced on October 20 last year.

7. Vijaya Bank has bagged nine Skoch Awards.

The bank has received these awards in the categories like -- Best Bank in Public Sector; Best Bank for NPA Management - Organization Category; Retail Lending; Inclusive Wallet - VPAYQWIK; Digital Inclusion; IT Security; e-Surveillance of ATMs and branches; and 100 Digital Villages - Financial Inclusion. Moreover, the bank's Executive Director B. S. Rama Rao received the NPA Management Award (individual category). Vijaya Bank is one of the premier nationalized banks in India and offers various products & services specific to various segments such as it has saving accounts for children, scheme for women clientele, credit facilities to minority communities like Zoroastrians, Buddhists are among others.

8. ISRO-made system to alert users at unmanned level crossings.

Satellite-based chip systems will now alert road users at unmanned level crossings about approaching trains and also help in tracking train movement on a real-time basis. On a pilot basis, the Mumbai and Guwahati Rajdhani trains will be equipped with this system. Road users will be warned by hooters once a train approaches an unmanned level crossing as railways are installing ISRO-developed integrated circuit (IC) chips on locomotives of trains.

9. India to build world's highest railway line connecting Leh.

India is planning to build the world's highest railway line connecting Leh in Jammu & Kashmir to parts of Himachal Pradesh including Manali. The 498-km-long line, to be built at an altitude of 3,300 metres will overtake the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. It will also help boost India's defence against China at the Sino-Indian border.

10. Srinivas Gokulnath is the first Indian to complete the 4,900-km Race Across America (RAAM) in solo category.
