1. Gopal Prasad Parajuli appointed the new Chief Justice of Nepal. Justice Gopal Prasad Parajuli will be the new Chief Justice of Nepal. The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) unanimously endorsed Justice Parajuli’s name for the post of Chief Justice of Supreme Court. After endorsement by PHSC the President will now appoint him as the Chief Justice. He will head the judiciary till April 28, 2018. 2. Matunga becomes India's first railway station run by women. Matunga suburban railway station in Mumbai has become the first station in India to be run by an all-women staff. A total of 30 women staffers, including eleven booking clerks, five Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and seven ticket checkers are working under station manager Mamta Kulkarni, who was the first female station master in Central Railway's Mumbai division. |

4. R K Pachnanda took charge as the new Director General of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). Shri Krishna Chaudhary, DG who retired on superannuation, handed over the customary baton to Shri Pachnanda in a function held at the Force HQ at CGO Complex. Shri Pachnanda is the 29th Chief of the ITBP. Shri Pachnanda is a 1983 batch Indian Police Service officer of the West Bengal cadre. Prior to the appointment as DG ITBP, Shri Pachnanda has served in various capacities as Commissioner of Police, Kolkata and DG NDRF. He has been decorated with Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 1999 and President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2007. |

10. I H Manudev wins 1st National Masters snooker tournament title. I H Manudev has won the first National Masters snooker tournament title in Chennai. Alok Kumar, a former national men's champion, had been in fine form coming into the summit clash, but found Karnataka's Manudev a tough proposition. Manudev, capitalised on the chances he got and kept scoring heavily and won the game by four impressive frames. He dominated the first two frames and seized control. In the third frame, Manudev stole Kumar's frame with an extraordinary clearance with one red on the table to lead by 3-0 which made all the difference in the match. |
