1. Maneka Gandhi has launched online complaint system 'sexual harassment e-box (SHe-box)'.

Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi today launched online complaint systen " sexual harassment e-box" for registering sexual harassment complaints at workplace in New Delhi. Briefing media persons, Mrs. Gandhi said, at initial phase this online portal is open for central government women employees only and later on, complaints from private sector will be entertained effectively. She said, the Ministry will soon conduct a national level survey to examine the magnitude of sexual harassment at workplace.

2. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has introduced Banking Regulation Amendment Bill, 2017.

The object of the Amendment is speedy resolution of Non Performing Assets in the banking system. Introducing the Bill, Mr. Jaitley said that banking Regulation Act, 1949 is being amended for authorising the Reserve Bank of India to issue directions to banking companies for timely resolution of stressed assets.

3. Rajnath Singh chaired the first meeting of Islands Development Agency (IDA) in New Delhi.

The IDA was set up last month following the Prime Minister’s review meeting for the development of islands. According to an official release, during the meeting, Mr Singh presented the vision for developing India’s maritime economy while preserving the natural eco-system and addressing the security concerns. He emphasized upon the need for sustainable development of Islands with people’s participation.

4. Amitabh Bachchan's ambassadorship for UNICEF extends for another two years.

Mr. Bachcan also wrote that now he is working for MR inoculation for kids. He had served as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Polio in India. The World Health Organisation also appointed Bachchan as its goodwill ambassador for hepatitis in South-East Asia region to boost awareness and intensify action to arrest the epidemic.

5. World's 1st floating wind farm starts to take shape off coast of Scotland.

The technology will allow wind power to be harvested in waters too deep for the current conventional bottom-standing turbines used. The Peterhead wind farm (Hywind) is a trial which will bring power to 20,000 homes.

6. According IMF, India growth rate will be 7.7 percent in 2018.

IMF projects India to grow at 7.7 per cent in 2018, estimating a significant increase against the backdrop of ongoing economic reforms. Global growth for 2016 is now estimated at 3.2 per cent, slightly stronger than the April 2017 forecast

7. Standard Chartered Bank has launched a ‘Multicurrency Forex Card’ to offer a seamless experience for overseas travelers.

It will allow customers the convenience of loading up to 20 widely used currencies on 1 card with an online reload facility during overseas travel. It will also provide Forex rate lock-in with 0 mark-up on cash withdrawals and shopping abroad.

8. Mithali Raj selected as the captain of the ICC Women's World Cup 2017 Team.

The side includes four players from England -- player of the tournament Tamsin Beaumont, player of the final Anya Shrubsole, wicketkeeper Sarah Taylor and left-arm spinner Alex Hartley --, three from South Africa that included opener Laura Wolvaardt and bowlers Marizanne Kapp and Dane van Niekerk, and Australia all-rounder Ellyse Perry.

9. Boxer Sachin Siwach wins Gold at Commonwealth Youth Games.

In Commonwealth Youth Games, world youth champion Sachin Siwach was the lone Indian boxer to clinch a gold medal in Bahamas. Siwach, who won a world youth gold last year, defeated Welsh boxer James Nathan Probert 4-1 in the final to claim the gold in the light flyweight (49kg) category.

10. Konsam Ormila Devi has bagged a Gold medal at the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships.

Indian weightlifter Konsam Ormila Devi has bagged a gold medal at the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in Kathmandu, Nepal. the weightlifter from Manipur lifted 56kg in snatch and 70kg in clean & jerk for a total effort of 126kg in the 44kg weight category to finish on the top of the podium.
