1. Indian Railways to introduce new class of 'Economy AC coaches' with fares less than 3AC.

The proposed fully AC train will have three-tier Economy AC coaches besides AC-3, AC-2 and AC-1 classes as part of the transformation exercise. An added feature would be automatic doors. A senior Railway Ministry official said that there will not be any chilling effect like in other AC classes and the temperature will be fixed around 24-25 degrees. He said, the aim is to make the passengers comfortable and not them feel the outside heat.

2. China to launch second heavy-lift carrier rocket 'The Long March-5 Y2' .

The Long March-5 Y2 will take off from the Wenchang launch center in the tropical island province of Hainan. The heavy-lift rocket, which will send the Shijian-18 communication satellite into orbit, is able to carry up to 25 tonnes weight. The launch will be the last drill for the Long March-5 series before it carries the Chang'e-5 lunar probe into space in the latter half of this year.

3. Union textiles ministry has inked 62 MoUs at Textile India 2017 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Union textiles ministry has inked 62 Memorandum of Understanding MoUs on the second day of Textile India 2017 in Gandhinagar- Gujarat yesterday. These include MoUs with Australia, China, and Bangladesh for silk research, fashion technologies and knowledge transfer. Apart from these, the Gujarat government has also signed three MoUs on textile sectors. The signing ceremony was presided over by Union textiles minister Smriti Irani and Union minister of state for textiles Ajay Tamta. Addressing the media on this occasion, Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani has said that this was the era of the development of the textile industry.

4. Rajkiran Rai G has appointed MD & CEO of Union Bank of India .

Prior to his elevation as MD & CEO of Union Bank of India, Rai was Executive Director of Oriental Bank of Commerce. He started his career in 1986 as an Agricultural Finance Officer in Central Bank of India.

5. Melwyn Rego has appointed MD & CEO of Syndicate Bank.

Prior to joining Syndicate Bank, Rego was MD & CEO of Bank of India. He started his career with IDBI Bank Ltd in 1984 and rose to the position of Deputy Managing Director.

6. SEBI has imposed a ₹27 lakh fine on Sungold Capital for violating disclosure norms.

Market regulator SEBI has imposed a ₹27 lakh fine on Sungold Capital and its three executive directors for allegedly violating public holding and disclosure norms. The firm was fined ₹5 lakh and the directors were fined ₹10 lakh for providing "false and misleading information" to stock exchanges. Chairman Rajiv Kotia was penalised ₹12 lakh for failing to disclose family's shareholding.

7. Facebook has launched tool to show users nearby Wi-Fi hotspots.

Social media platform Facebook has started rolling out its 'Find Wi-Fi' feature globally which lets mobile users find Wi-Fi networks close to their location. However, the feature requires businesses to claim their network so that Facebook can show it on a map. Facebook claims the 'Find Wi-Fi' tool will help travellers, especially in areas where cellular data is scarce.

8. Uttarakhand becomes 20th state to ban begging.

Uttarakhand on Saturday banned begging, making it one of the twenty states and two union territories to have banned the practice. Following a High Court order, the state issued the notification that gives the police right to arrest people begging on the streets. Notably, the begging ban was earlier applicable only in the temple town of Haridwar.

9. Jeff Horn defeated Pacquiuao in WBO welterweight world title fight.

In Boxing, Jeff Horn, a lesser known name in arena, has defeated legendary Manny Pacquiao by a unanimous decision at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia this morning. In front of a packed hometown, Horn put up an incredible performance to claim Pacquiao's WBO welterweight championship. The three judges scored the closely-fought bout 117-111, 115-113, 115-113 in Horn's favour. However, some pundits are calling the decision a controversial one as Horn absorbed a tremendous punishment throughout the fight.

10. Dane van Niekerk became the first bowler in ODIs to take four wickets without conceding a single run.

South African women's cricket team captain Dane van Niekerk on Sunday became the first bowler across men's and women's ODIs to take four wickets without conceding a single run. Niekerk registered figures of 3.2-3-0-4, helping her side dismiss Windies for 48 runs in the ongoing women's World Cup. Two woman cricketers had earlier taken three wickets for no runs.
