1. Ana Brnabic has become the first gay woman Prime Minister Serbia . The Serbian parliament voted in Ana Brnabic, an openly gay woman, as the country's prime minister in a landmark move for the patriarchal conservative country and the entire Balkans region. The 41-year old Brnabic and her cabinet were backed by 157 MPs in the 250-seat parliament after being proposed by President Aleksandar Vucic. |
2. Madhya Pradesh has set record with plantation of 6 cr saplings in day. In Madhya Pradesh, a massive plantation campaign was undertaken to save the environment and conservation of the Narmada river. According to official sources over six crores, saplings were planted in 24 districts of Narmada basin in just 12 hours. Arrangements were made to record the whole event for the Guinness World Record. Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the plantation drive at Amarkantak of Anooppur district. |
3. India’s biggest Global Skill Park has started by Rajeev Pratap Rudy and Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Bhopal. The 37-acre land has been allotted in Narela Shankari area of Bhopal for the Global Skill Park. The park will be constructed at a cost of 645 crore rupees. Training will be imparted to 1000 students every year by trainers of international standard. The park will function on the spirit of ‘With Industry -For Industry’. |
4. India successfully test-fires short-range surface-to-air missile (QR-SAM) from Odisha. India today successfully test-fired its all weather tracked-chassis Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QR-SAM) from a mobile launcher at launch complex III of the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Odisha this morning. It was the second developmental trial of the missile just within three months from the same test range. Jointly developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Bharat Electronics Ltd, the QR-SAM weapon system is a quick reaction, network-centric missile system capable of search-on-the-move. |
5. Maharashtra govt launched scheme to deposit Anganwadi Sevika, assistants salary into their bank accounts. Maharashtra Government today launched a scheme to deposit the salary of two lakh six thousand Anganwadi Sevika and assistants in the state directly into their bank accounts. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today launched the scheme which reduces the delay in disbursement of the salary of these employees. The money will be deposited through Public Financial Management System. |
6. India has 220 million dollar loan with Asian Development Bank. The Centre and Asian Development Bank, ADB today signed a 220 million dollar loan for improving connectivity as well as transport efficiency and safety on State Highways of Rajasthan. The loan is the first tranche of the 500 million dollar Rajasthan State Highways Investment Program, approved by ADB Board in May this year. An official release said, the first tranche loan will improve about one thousand kilometers of State Highways and major district roads. |
7. PM Modi has released a photo book titled "President Pranab Mukherjee - A Statesman" in Rashtrapati Bhawan. He presented the first copy of the book to the President. The book is a comprehensive photographic record of India's 13th president. It covers Mukherjee's presidency and documents his various roles, the statement said. Union ministers Arun Jaitley, Prakash Javadekar and Vijay Goel besides BJP veteran L K Advani were also present on the occasion. |
8. FINO Payments Bank has commenced operations as a payments bank with effect from 30th June 2017. FINO PayTech Ltd, Mumbai, was one of the 11 applicants which were issued in-principle approval for setting up a payments bank. Besides FINO, the other applicants which have launched payment bank operations are Airtel M Commerce Services, Department of Posts and Paytm Payments Bank. |

10. Germany have lifted their maiden Confederation Cup Football title. In the final played at St Petersburg last night, the four-time World Cup winners defeated Chile by a solitary goal. Lars Stindl put Germany ahead in the first half against the run of play, and Germany then held on to the lead. Copa America winners Chile dominated ball possession from start to finish, but could not score despite getting a plethora of chances. Earlier, in the third-place play-off match in Moscow, Portugal defeated Mexico 2-1. Luis Neto bundled into his own net to hand Mexico a 54th-minute lead, but centre-back Pepe stabbed home a stoppage-time equaliser to force an extra 30 minutes at Spartak Stadium. Adrien Silva then scored an extra-time penalty to give victory to Portugal. For Silva, it was his first international goal. |
