1. China has Launched its First Cyber Court in e-commerce Hub.

China launched its first cyber court specializing in handling Internet-related cases in the e-commerce hub of Hangzhou. The Hangzhou Internet Court in Hangzhou will handle cases such as online trade disputes and copyright lawsuits.

2. NHAI has launched two mobile Apps, MyFASTag and FASTag .

These mobile apps will help in the availability of FASTags for Electronic Toll Collection. The cumbersome method of purchase and recharge of FASTags has been one of the major challenges. The mobile Apps launched will ease the process, making it possible to buy or recharge FASTags at the click of a mobile button. MyFASTag is basically a consumer App that can be downloaded from the App Store for both Android and iOS systems. A consumer can purchase or recharge FASTags on this App. The App also helps to keep track of transactions and provides for online grievance redressal

3. Sri Lanka Appoints First Tamil Navy Chief After Four Decades.

Rear Admiral Travis Sinniah was appointed as the chief of Sri Lanka's naval forces, making him the first from the minority Tamil community to head the Navy since the brutal civil war erupted in the country 45 years ago. He was appointed as the Navy chief by President Maithripala Sirisena.

4. Smriti Irani has inaugurated a ceremony at Jamshedpur in Jharkhand for laying foundation stones of 70 new companies.

This initiative is under the ongoing Momentum Jharkhand initiative of state government whose theme is ease of doing business in the state. The ongoing ceremony, named as "Second Groundbreaking Ceremony" foundation stones for 70 companies were laid whose permissions have been granted after receiving the proposals few months ago.

5. Union Bank of India agreement with Bajaj Allianz and Cholamandalam insurance for distribution of insurance products.

Union Bank of India entered into a corporate agency agreement with Bajaj Allianz General Insurance and Cholamandalam MS General Insurance for distribution of their insurance products. The public sector bank already has a corporate agency agreement with The New India Assurance.

6. AK Joti and OP Rawat has inaugurated a 2-day Chief Electoral Officers’ Conference in New Delhi.

Chief Election Commissioner AK Joti and Election Commissioner OP Rawat inaugurated a two-day Chief Electoral Officers’ Conference in New Delhi on Friday. Addressing the conference, Mr Joti stressed on the need of providing E-services to stakeholders and emphasised the requirement to develop E-Payment gateways for various election services of Election commission. He underlined the need for extensive training programmes on Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) as the Commission has decided to conduct all future elections using it along with Electronic Voting Machines.

7. Sanjiv Gupta appointed President and MD of GM India.

Sanjiv Gupta has been appointed as the President and Managing Director (MD) of General Motors (GM) India. He will replace Kaher Kazem.Now, Kazem has been appointed as the President and CEO of General Motors Korea.

8. Neymar becomes goodwill ambassador for world’s disabled.

Neymar, fresh from his first win with Paris St Germain and his world-record signing for the club, became a goodwill ambassador for Handicap International yesterday, pledging to work for millions who are “less visible” but deserve equality. The Brazilian forward, whose 222 million-euro ($259.72M) signing from Barcelona this month doubled the world- record transit fee, mounted a huge statue of a chair outside the U.N. in Geneva that symbolises landmine victims.

9. Pravin Rao has appointed as the interim MD and CEO of Infosys.

Vishal Sikka resigned from his post as Managing Director and CEO of Infosys on Friday. He has been appointed the Executive Chairman, with effect from today, until a new one is appointed and takes charge. His resignation was accepted during a board meeting on August 18. U B Pravin Rao has been appointed as the interim MD and CEO of the company. With over 30 years of experience, U B Pravin Rao, is currently the chairperson of Infosys BPO. He oversees the key functions of global sales, global delivery and business enabling functions.

10. Virat Kohli continues to top ICC ODI rankings for batsmen.

India captain Virat Kohli continued to be the world's top-ranked One-day batsman in the latest ICC ODI rankings, released in Dubai. Having 873 points in his kitty, Kohli will have a chance to increase the 12-point lead over second-placed Australian David Warner at the upcoming five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, starting in Dambulla on Sunday. Other Indian batsmen in the top-15 are former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni 12th, Shikhar Dhawan 13th and vice- captain Rohit Sharma 14th.Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar 13th is the lone Indian in top 15.
