Trump presented America’s highest military honor to James McCloughan at a White House ceremony. 4. Union Govt. orders LPG prices to be hiked by Rs. 4 per month. The union govt. has ordered state-run oil companies to raise subsidized cooking gas (LPG) prices by four rupees (excluding tax) per cylinder every month to eliminate all the subsidies by March 2018. The order came into effect on 1st June 2017. Oil companies have raised rates twice since then, the last being on 1st July when rates were up by a steep Rs 32 per cylinder. |

6. World's longest pedestrian suspension bridge has opened in Switzerland. Spanning an awesome 1621 feet and rising as high as 279 feet, the newly opened Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge in Switzerland has broken the record for the world's longest pedestrian suspension bridge, according to Zermatt Tourism. The bridge, which has replaced an older bridge that was damaged by falling rocks, was named after its chief sponsor, a psychologist and co-owner of a Swiss winery. |

8. Health Ministry will launch Intensified Mission Indradhanush to accelerate immunization coverage . The Ministry will give greater focus on urban areas and other pockets of low immunization coverage. According to the plan, States will conduct Intensified Mission Indradhanush drives for 7 working days from 7th day of every month starting from 7th October this year for four consecutive months. A total of 118 districts, 17 urban areas and 52 districts of North East states will be targeted under Intensified Mission Indradhanush. |
