1.Social education start-up Meghshala Trust has launched Meghshala app for teachers.

Bengaluru-based social education start-up Meghshala Trust, supported by Tata Trusts, launched Meghshala (‘School on the Cloud’) offline mobile app on Google Play Store for the Android platform. The app empowers teachers with the necessary tools and resources to create classroom learning experiences that are engaging and interactive. It is preloaded with over 2,500 of Meghashala’s ‘TeachKits’, aligned to the Karnataka State curriculum for science, maths, English and social studies.

2. Dharmendra Kumar appointed as Director General of RPF.

Central Industrial Security Force, Additional Director General, Dharmendra Kumar has been appointed as the Director General, Railway Protection Force,RPF. Kumar, who is a 1984 batch IPS officer of Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre, took charge.

3. PM of Nepal Sher Bahadur Deuba will be on a 5- day visit to India.

Prime Minister of Nepal Sher Bahadur Deuba will be on a five day visit to India from 23rd of this month. In a release, the External Affairs Ministry said today that this is Mr Deuba's first visit abroad after assuming the office of Prime Minister of Nepal in June this year. A high-level delegation will accompany the Nepalese Prime Minister. During his stay in India, the visiting dignitary will call-on the President and Vice President of India and will hold talks with the Prime Minister.

4. First meeting of experts & officials of Pancheshwar Development Authority begins in Kathmandu.

The first meeting of team of experts and officials of Pancheshwar Development Authority(PDA) has begun at Kathmandu today. During the two day meeting various issues of Pancheshwar Hydropower project including hydrology, existing and future consumptive water use under Mahakali treaty, maximisation of total benefits and cost apportionment of the project will be discussed. Formation of subgroups on Hydrology, Geology, Construction equipment planning, Environment and socio-economic impacts and Civil design will also be discussed. Experts and senior officials of India and Nepal are taking part in the meeting.

5. Assam government has proposed ambitious project to improve rural road connectivity.

The Assam government has proposed ambitious project to improve rural road connectivity .Participating in an AIR program, Managing Director of Assam State Transport Corporation A P Tiwari said that government is mulling to start Chief Minister's Lok Parivahan Yojna. Mr. Tiwari said that under the scheme , 800 new buses are expected to be included. Apart from this, 140 uncovered routes of the state will be covered. He also said that a slew of measures are being initiated to make the corporation a profit making body.

6. Power Grid Corporation will get USD 500 million loan from the ADB for its various projects.

State-run power transmission utility Power Grid Corp announced that it will get a loan of USD 500 million from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for its various projects. The proceeds of the loan are proposed to be utilised for funding of Green Energy Corridor (Part D); 800KV High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) bipole link between Western Region (Raigarh, Chhattisgarh) and Southern Region (Pugalur, Tamil Nadu) and 320 KV HDVC link between Pugalur and North Trichur (Kerala).

7. Japan has launched H-2A rocket and put the 3rd of its new quasi-zenith satellites into orbit.

Japan has launched a rocket & put the 3rd of its new quasi-zenith satellites into orbit to help improve the precision of the global positioning system. H-2A rocket launched by JAXA carried Michibiki No 3 which is part of a 4 satellite constellation.

8. UK Scientists Create World's Smallest Surgical Robot.

British scientists have developed the worlds smallest surgical robot which could transform daily operations for tens of thousands of patients. A team of 100 scientists and engineers have used low-cost technology originally developed for mobile phones and space industry.

9. China to relaunch world's fastest bullet trains.

China is relaunching the fastest bullet trains in the world, which run at 350 kilometres per hour. China first ran the trains at 350 kilometres per hour in 2008. However, it reduced speeds to 250-300 kilometres per hour after a two-train collision near the city of Wenzhou killed 40 people and injured 191 in 2011.

10. Shapath Bharadwaj has won bronze for India at Junior Shotgun World Cup .

Shapath Bharadwaj, a 15-year-old from Meerut, won a bronze medal in the double trap event at the ISSF Junior Shotgun World Cup in Italy on Sunday. Earlier, shooters Lakshay Sheoran and Manisha Keer combined to win a bronze medal in the mixed team trap event. Italy is currently dominating the event with three golds, three silvers, and a bronze medal.
