Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched its navigation satellite ‘IRNSS-1H’ from Satish Dhavan Space Centre at Sriharikotta, on board the rocket PSLV C39. The satellite IRNSS-1H is a part of the indigenous navigation system called ‘NavIC’. NavIC system is equivalent to the GPS service, having the footprint over the whole of India and about 1500 kilometers from its borders on all sides. |

| 7. GST collection for the first month at Rs 92,283 crore. According to the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on the first set of data on tax collections, taxes worth Rs 92,283 crore were collected in July from just 64.42% of the total taxpayer base. The finance minister said even after the compensation cess is excluded, the target will still be surpassed when all taxpayers file returns.
