1. Minister of state for HRD has launched portal of NCERT for supply of textbooks. Minister of State for Human Resource Development Upendra Kushwaha today launched the NCERT’s Web portal for supply of textbooks to schools and individuals at a function in New Delhi. The portal will ensure better distribution of textbooks across the country and address the concerns of schools and parents, regarding unavailability of textbooks. The Web Portal can be accessed at www.ncertbooks.ncert.gov.in. The schools will be able to log on to the portal, by entering their respective Boards’ affiliation numbers and other details, till 8th of next month for placing their orders for the session 2018-19. |
2. Nation celebrates 75th anniversary of Quit India Movement. National Archives of India has organised an exhibition - Quit India and Chalo Dilli on the the occasion of 75th Anniversary of the Quit India movement and Azad Hind Fauj. Culture Minister Dr Mahesh Sharma today inaugurated the exhibition. The exhibition will be open till 1st of next month and will be free for public. People will get a chance to have a glimpse of original documents related to Quit India Movement and the files related to Indian National Army or Azad Hind Fauj. |
3. NITI Aayog announces partnership with six states to transform Health & Edu sectors. NITI Aayog has shortlisted Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Karnataka under its 'Sustainable Action for Transforming Human Capital', SATH initiative to handhold them and transform their health sector. The Aayog has also selected Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Odisha under its SATH initiative to transform their education sector. To give major push to competitive, cooperative federalism, the government think tank had invited all states and Union Territories to participate in its SATH initiative to transform Health and Education sectors. |
4. ICICI Bank has launched instant credit cards. The country's largest private sector lender, ICICI Bank, launched instant credit cards enabling its savings account customers to get a credit card instantly, in a completely digital and paperless manner. The bank has opened up this offering to a few lakh of pre-qualified customers who can apply for the card online and generate card details and start shopping online instantly. |

London-born Dev Patel, who became popular with his debut film Slumdog Millionaire, will be felicitated with the Asia Society 2017 Asia Game Changers Award at a ceremony to be held at the United Nations, New York, in November 2017. |
7. India and USA will conduct ”Yudh Abhyas” joint exercise between their armies. The 13th Yudh Abhyas exercise will be held from September 14-27 at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in the US, Over 200 Indian soldiers from the Gorkha Rifles will take part in the military exercise. The exercise Yudh Abhyas started in 2004 under US Army Pacific partnership programme. |

9.Wayde Van Niekerk won men’s 400 m event & retained his title in World Athletics Championships in London. World Record holder South African Niekerk, clocked 43.98 seconds to finish at the top of podium while Steve Gardiner of Bahamas finished 2nd in the event. As of 2016 he was the only sprinter to have run 100 m in under 10 sec, 200 m in under 20 sec & 400 m in under 44 sec. |
10. Kynan Chenai wins bronze at 7th Asian Shotgun. Indian shooter ‘Kynan Chenai’ has won a bronze in men's trap event at the 7th Asian Championship Shotgun at Astana, Kazakhstan. Kynan first shot 116 out of 125 to qualify for the six men final round in the third spot and then held on to the position till the end of the finals. |
