1.India to host UN summit on migratory species in 2020.

India will host the next UN global wildlife conservation and international species protection conference in 2020, it was announced on Saturday in the Philippine capital.An announcement in this regard was made on the last day of the week-long 12th session of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals or CMS COP12, the only international treaty devoted exclusively to migratory animal species.

2.PM Modi to hold delegation-level talks with Italian PM, focus on improving economic cooperation.

Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni, who arrived in New Delhi on Sunday on a two-day state visit to India, is all set to engage in a new bilateral dialogue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to improve economic and trade cooperation.

3.Cabinet Approves Rs 7,000 crore for Construction of Six IIT Campuses.

The Union Cabinet has approved over Rs 7,000 crore for construction of permanent campuses of six new Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) across the country. Each of the permanent campuses to be established at Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), Palakkad (Kerala), Dharwad (Karnataka), Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir), Bhilai (Chhattisgarh) and Goa will have a facility for housing 1,200 students from the academic year 2020-2021.

4.Sharmila Tagore Honoured With Lifetime Achievement Award.

The 72-year-old actor was bestowed with the recognition by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi for her contribution in the field of cinema. Minister of State for Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh and Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari presented the award to Tagore at a ceremony held last night at Siri Fort Auditorium. The celebrated actor debuted in movies with legendary director Satyajit Ray's Bengali film Apur Sansar in 1959.

5. Book on Kalam's inspirational words released Co-authored by Saji Mathew and Jubie John.

An illustrative book containing inspiring words of Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was released online on Sunday by Indian women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj on the 86th birth anniversary of the former President. Titled "Dreamnation: Uniting a Country with Handwritten Dreams", the book includes a collection of 200-plus handcrafted and handwritten postcards from across India and takes readers through the dreams, hopes, and aspirations of a nation as envisioned by Dr Kalam. Co-authored by Saji Mathew and Jubie John and published by Bloomsbury in collaboration with NGO LetterFarms.

6. Virat Kohli, Mithali Raj top ICC ODI rankings.

Kohli overtook South Africa's AB de Villiers in the rankings and that mirrored his achievement on Sunday in the final ODI against New Zealand when the Indian captain surpassed de Villiers to become the fastest to 9000 ODI runs in 194 innings -- 11 lesser than the South African. The 28-year-old Kohli, who scored 263 runs in the series against New Zealand including knocks of 121 in the first ODI in Mumbai and 113 in the final ODI in Kanpur, has reached 889 points, which is the best-ever by an India batsman. The previous highest points tally of 887 was managed by Sachin Tendulkar in 1998 and by Kohli earlier this year.

7.AU Small Bank, SIDBI Launch Rs 200 crore Fund for MSMEs.

AU Small Finance Bank tied up with Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) to launch a Rs200 crore fund for providing loans to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The program will fund term loans in the Rs25 lakh to Rs2 crore ticket size. Under the advice of Sidbi, AU Bank will play the anchor in this program as all the processes including disbursement, monitoring and recovery will be handled by them.

8.Virat Kohli becomes fastest batsman to score 9000 ODI runs.

Kohli has become the 19th batsman to breach the 9000-run mark, making him the fastest to get there Dhoni had reached the milestone last year while other Indians who have done so are Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly, Azharuddin.He had surpassed Ponting in the list of most ODI hundreds with his 31st ton

9.Kidambi Srikanth beats Kenta Nishimoto to win French Open Super Series title.

Srikanth outplayed Nishimoto 21-14, 21-13 in a lop-sided final that lasted just 34 minutes He became the first Indian player to win four Super Series titles in a year.He clinched titles at Indonesia, Australia and Denmark earlier this year

10.Federer has won eighth Basel crown, 95th career title

Home favourite Roger Federer claimed his eighth Swiss Indoors title on Sunday (Oct 29) with a 6-7 (5/7), 6-4, 6-3 final defeat of Juan Martin del Potro. The 36-year-old fought back from a set down to win the 95th ATP title of his career, taking him clear above Ivan Lendl into second on the all-time list behind Jimmy Connors’ mark of 109. It was Federer’s first success against the Argentine in a Basel final, after the South American beat him in both 2012 and 2013.
